31st Memorial for Late Chief RBK Okafor

On Saturday 19th November, we held the first memorial lecture for the 31st Memorial of my father, Late Chief RBK Okafor and it was a really wonderful event. The heavens gained him in 1991 but it feels really good to still see and hear people refer to his legacies, 31 years after!

Friends and dignitaries came from far and near to join us in celebrating the life and times of the great Nwamadu; also, students from various tertiary institutions gathered for a thrilling essay competition which was the highlight of the memorial.

4 scholarships were awarded!

The top 4 students in the keenly contested essay competition got nGN 50,000, NGN 100,000, NGN 200,000, and NGN 300,000 respectively, as prize money.

The first prize winner, Daniel Anyanwu Chinemeuchie from Imo State Polytechnic, Omuma, will emerge as the 2023 RBK Okafor Scholar.
He is such an intelligent young man and will be involved in all of the important works of our foundation in 2023. I personally look forward to working with him!

Education was one of the major advocacies of my father and it is fulfilling to have been able to put together a successful academic event like this in his honor.

On behalf of the Chief RBK Okafor Family Foundation, I am grateful to everyone who honoured us and contributed to the success of the memorial. We are so proud of all the winners and we wish them much success in their studies.
